Sismo Stories & Performances is enriching the cultural landscape of the Netherlands by transferring to Amsterdam the most exciting international theatre productions in English and by commissioning and producing compelling new work written in Dutch. As our name suggests, we will bring you stories and performances.

The stories side to our stories & performances sees to the development of new work written in Dutch. We support and nurture playwrights writing in Dutch, enabling them to create original, inventive work. We provide development opportunities to emerging new voices from diverse backgrounds, via mentorship schemes, masterclasses with established writers and readings of their work, both whilst it is still in-progress and when it is finished. In 2021 we plan to commission a number of playwrights to create new original work for the stage in Dutch.

For our performances side, we are focussing on live and online theatre shows. Launching next season, we are bringing you cutting-edge theatre productions in English, transferring them from leading UK stages to Amsterdam, with their original casts and creative teams. We will be showcasing the freshest and hottest new work, from playwrights who have a unique perspective on our world today.
